Remote Area Trainee

Remote Area Trainees (RATS)

In order to cater for all trainees, the AFOM training program has a special Remote Area Trainee arrangement.  Commonly known as 'RATs' the arrangement is available to trainees who have to travel for 2 or more hours to reach the training venue for meetings.  This is organised at application stage or when the trainee's circumstances change.

There is a Remote Area Trainee Director of Training (formally known as the Censor), ensuring that the RATs meet the requirements of the training program.  On the third Monday of each month, a RAT teleconference is held, where trainees have the opportunity to present to the group.  These presentations cover at least one of the nine competencies of the training program.

A list of dates for the 2008 RAT teleconferences are available here to download: RAT Schedule 2008
