Training Program
The AFOEM training program is based on the principle of self-directed learning. The trainee is responsible for their own progress through the competency based program.
The program aims to integrate a wide experience in occupational and environmental medicine practice with a range of activities to assist trainees to gain the necessary skills to pass each assessment component in order to gain Fellowship.
Components of assessment are:
- Written examination
- Clinical examination
- Research project
- Presentation for the Ramazzini Prize
Trainees have 10 years in which to complete all components of the assessment criteria.
Intake dates
There are only two intakes into the program annually:
- 30 November for commencement on1 January OR
- 31 May for commencement on 1 July.
